I was born to travel.

Throughout my childhood and teen years, my family took many trips to Florida to visit my beloved aunt. At age 4, we visited Walt Disney World for my first time and my love of the Magic was born. I have been fortunate to have visited Walt Disney World more times than I can count throughout my life.

While I was in grade school, my Mom began working for an airline. One of her job perks was free flights. We’d fly to Boston to shop and have lunch at Faneuil Hall market, then fly back before bedtime. We made several trips to Washington D.C. where I was able to explore the
Smithsonian museums and see the Declaration of Independence while learning U.S. history in Jr. High. At 14, I went overseas for the first time; we traveled to Japan to meet up with a former exchange student.

The following year was my first journey to Belgium and Switzerland. I’ve traveled to Europe several times with my Mom, on my own and then with my husband, Mark. I’ve visited Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, and Spain.

Mark and I enjoy traveling together; driving the Pacific Coast Highway from San Diego to Napa Valley, we toured Ireland, visited Italy, Costa Rica, St. Lucia, Mexico and Belgium.

Our son was almost 2 years old when our daughter was born. Within the first 6 months of her life, I began to plan our first trip to Walt Disney World as a new family! In planning this family vacation, I realized that preparing for a Disney World vacation is more time consuming than backpacking across Europe for 3 weeks!

This is where Purple Martin Vacations was born. In the past 9 years, I’ve returned to Walt Disney World 12 times, Disneyland twice and cruised Disney Cruise Line. I have studied Disney Destinations like it’s my PhD and love sharing my knowledge and experience with others. However, my passion isn’t limited to Disney. Our family experiences have expanded to cruising and all inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean! There’s a great big world out there to experience. And like the Purple Martin bird, when you explore other places, it makes returning home that much sweeter.
